Creative Writing

Navajo Technical University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in Creative Writing encourages students to focus on their own written work with emphasis in the crafts of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and scriptwriting. Students are provided with the knowledge, skills, practice, and opportunities needed to succeed in creative, literary, publishing, communications, and academic endeavors and careers.
The program fosters the continuance of the narrative legacy of the Navajo people with the goal of expanding the reach of Diné voices around the world, while grounding students with exposure to global literature, arts, cultures, media technologies, and societies for a deeper understanding of their perspectives locally and internationally.
NTU’s Creative Writing BFA degree can be attained through both in-person and online classes.
