Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
Navajo Technical University (NTU) is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is an institutional accrediting agency that accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States. The HLC is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Institutional accreditation affirms the quality and integrity of an institution as a whole. Through its accreditation process, the HLC evaluates multiple aspects of an institution, including academic programs, governance and administration, mission and strategic planning, financial stability, and institutional resources.
HLC evaluates institutions using established criteria for accreditation that reflect a set of guiding values focused on continuous improvement, student success, and educational quality. Accreditation by the HLC applies to all degree levels offered by NTU and includes courses delivered both on campus and through distance or online learning.
