Crownpoint, NM—On June 18, 2025, Navajo Technical University (NTU) is proud to announce the newest members of its Men’s Skyhawks Basketball Team. These student-athletes represent not only emerging talent on the court but also a commitment to academic and personal growth through NTU’s diverse academic programs. Their addition marks a significant step in strengthening the university’s athletics program and expanding its student engagement. Introducing the 2025 NTU Men’s Basketball Team Roster:

Men’s Head Coach Michael McMillan shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming season:

2025 NTU Men’s Basketball Team

Devin Moore #40

Devin Moore, from Santa Fe, NM, signed his letter of intent to join the NTU Skyhawks Basketball Team with his family by his side. After being contacted by Coach McMillan, who watched him play in Santa Fe, Devin was invited to an open tryout in Crownpoint. He embraced the challenge of the intense two-day tryout and earned his spot. Devin will also major in Electrical Trades at NTU, inspired by his grandfather’s career in the field.

Keato Long #34

Keato Long, from Grants, NM, earned his spot on the NTU Men’s Basketball Team through open tryouts after catching Coach McMillan’s eye during a high school game. Excited to play close to home, Keato also plans to major in New Media at NTU, building on his creative interests and classroom experience from high school.

Christopher Rodriguez #11

Christopher Rodriguez, from Las Vegas, NV, earned a spot on the NTU Men’s Basketball Team through open tryouts and signed his letter of intent surrounded by family. A friend connected him with Coach McMillan, and after visiting Crownpoint, Christopher was drawn to NTU’s welcoming community and supportive learning environment. He will major in Culinary Arts while continuing his basketball journey.

Texas James #10

Texas James, from Whiteriver, AZ, signed his letter of intent to join the NTU Men’s Basketball Team, supported by family and Coach McMillan. After standing out at the open tryouts, he secured his spot and will pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Texas is excited to grow both academically and athletically at NTU.

Uriah Gill #2

Uriah Gill, originally from Albany, NY and now living in Grants, NM, has signed with the NTU Men’s Skyhawks Basketball Team. Recruited by Coach McMillan after a standout performance at Grants High School, Uriah is excited to continue his basketball journey while pursuing a degree in Business at NTU.

Cyril Johnson #35

Cyril Johnson, from Gallup, NM, signed his letter of intent to join the NTU Skyhawks Basketball Team, surrounded by family. A Gallup High School standout with prior college basketball experience, Cyril brings valuable insight and is ready to compete close to home. He will major in Computer Science, combining his passion for tech with his athletic goals.

Zonte Upton #13

Zonte Upton, from Whiteriver, AZ and a proud member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, has signed to play basketball at NTU. Wearing jersey #13 in honor of his brother Harley, Zonte is motivated to follow in his footsteps and dreams of playing professionally. He’ll also pursue a degree in Culinary Arts to grow his passion for cooking.

Arsean Bozo #4

Arsean Bozo, from the Noligk Village of the Tohono O’odham Nation in Sells, AZ, is joining the NTU Men’s Basketball Team. Inspired by family who attended NTU, he traveled to Crownpoint for tryouts and earned his spot. Arsean will major in Engineering Technology and is proud to represent NTU on and off the court.

Torman Lang #30

Torman Lang, from Morenci, AZ, signed with the NTU Men’s Basketball Team after earning a spot through open tryouts. He was proud to make the roster and is motivated to prove himself on the court. Off the court, he’s enrolled in NTU’s Welding Program to gain hands-on skills and prepare for a strong career after graduation.

Eric Slim #23

Eric Slim, from Phoenix, AZ, signed with the NTU Men’s Basketball Team after earning a spot through open tryouts. A Valley Sanders High School alum, Eric is excited to start his college journey and will major in Electrical Trades, drawn by his strong interest in the field.

Necolis Begay

Necolis Begay, from Norman, OK

NTU will soon announce tryouts for the Women’s Skyhawks Team—stay tuned for updates. The full NTU Men’s Basketball game schedule will also be released soon.
