The gym had visitors, from students to fans who cheered passionately throughout the first half. From tense buzzer-beaters to aggressive drives to the basket, our NTU players took full advantage of the action, while Navajo Nation President Buu Nyrgren praised both teams’ sportsmanship and effort on and off the court.
The Skyhawks displayed their offensive and defensive skills and made significant progress as they tried to narrow the gap. However, they faced a formidable rival in GCU, which eventually took control, ending the game with scores of 81 for Navajo Technical University and 83 for GCU.
“It was an exciting basketball game that united the community and entertained everyone. We commend both teams for their sportsmanship and dedication. Support your team in their upcoming matches — your cheers can motivate them to excel,” stated Buu Nygren.
At NTU, student-athletes demonstrate that it’s possible to honor their roots while building their futures. Whether scoring or studying, these Skyhawks are dedicated to success for themselves, their families, and their communities. Representing their nations, earning their degrees, and soaring high with NTU.
