Navajo Technical University

Crownpoint, New Mexico – On January 31st, 2025, Presenter Lisa Selner, Supervisory Wildlife Biologist with USDA Wildlife Services, addressed Navajo Technical University students passionate about wildlife and conservation.

The USDA Wildlife Services program offers numerous opportunities for students, including internships, research collaborations, and career pathways in wildlife management, ecology, and conservation. Through this partnership with NTU, students gain hands-on experience in the field, engage in data collection, and receive training in wildlife damage management.

These experiences equip students with essential skills to make a significant impact. Participants work alongside seasoned professionals, conduct valuable research on wildlife behavior and population control, and contribute to vital projects that promote environmental sustainability and support local communities. With expert mentorship, specialized training, and the possibility of future employment within USDA agencies, this program serves as a launchpad for students eager to transform their passion for wildlife into a rewarding career through Navajo Technical University.
