Graduates will have a background in drafting and professional certification that will prepare them for entry-level positions onsite or on an E-Commerce basis at drafting, design, and engineering firms and municipal entities as CAD operators. In addition to the Computer-Aided Drafting Certificate (the first two semesters), graduates can continue to earn an A.A.S. degree in Computer-Aided Drafting. The graduate will have a background in architectural and mechanical drafting as well as Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Architectural Desktop and Inventor software. The goal of the Computer-Aided Drafting program is to provide students with the ability to use state-of-the-art software programs in the architectural industry as well as the mechanical engineering industry. Graduates will have the knowledge and understand the language of both industries in order to be able to find work with architects or engineers alike.
Software used in the program: AutoCAD 2D Revit Pro/Engineer Geomagic Studio Geomagic Qualify NavisWorks Faro Scene Materialise (Magics software) Skills aquired in the program: 2D AutoCAD skills for Mechanical and Architecture 3D Mechanical Modeling using Pro/E 3D Architectural Modeling using Revit 3D Laser Scanning Using Faro Photon 120 (Terrestrial) 3D Laser Scanning Using ATOS White Light Scanner for Inspection Rapid Prototyping (Zcorp 310plus)
