Mr. Filiberto Vecenti and NTU Archery team competed at the 2015 3D US Intercollegiate Archery Championship at Sahara Woods SWP, Carrier Mills, Illinois on October 2-4, 2015. Mr. Vecenti (Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Natural Resources student) won the USCAA 3D USIAC Recurve Men Championship, was selected 3D Recurve Men All-American and All-Academic Honor in Recurve Men. Filiberto shoot a 351 in the two day event.

Individual Results:

  • Filiberto Vicenti #1 with a score of 351. (Men Recurve)
  • Shane Tsosie finished #27, with a score of 330. (Men Bowhunter)
  • Tex Etsitty finished #33, with a score of 317. Men Bowhunter)
  • Kathleen Mariano finished #21, with a score of 276. Women Bowhunter

Filiberto Vecenti shoots during unmarked, qualifying round. Mr. Vecenti was on mark as he captures 3D USIAC Men's Recurve gold medal with 351 score.

Team Results

  • NTU Bowhunter Mixed Team (Tsosie and Mariano) fell to Liberty University, 2 to 1.
  • NTU Bowhunter Men Team (Tsosie, Etsitty, and Mariano) fell to eventual gold medalist University of Cumberlands, 125 to 156.

NTU Archery competed with 14 other colleges/universities. There was a total of 138 collegiate archers at the competition.

NTU teams have goals to place in their conference, regional, and national championships in a variety of sports. Winning teams have become a tradition at NTU in both men’s and women’s sports.
