According to the NTU catalog, “an “I” may be issued when unforeseeable circumstances beyond the student’s control prevent the student from completing course requirements. Incomplete grades will not be authorized when the student has failed to complete course requirements or has earned a failing grade due to personal negligence. An incomplete grade must be converted to a credit grade by satisfactorily completing the required assignments within the adjusted deadline (arranged between the instructor and student) of the following semester. A student does not have to reregister for the course if completed within the stated deadline. The Incomplete grade must be converted by the next semester otherwise the “I” will automatically convert to an “F”. The instructor must complete and submit an Incomplete Form to the Registrar’s office.”
Spring Intersession, Summer Semester and Summer Intersession
NTU will start spring, summer, and winter intersession courses this year. Intersession courses help students who have one class to graduate or want to get one course out of the way. Students can take only one course or a maximum of four (4) credit hours during each intersession. Class meeting times for a three-credit hour course for a face-to-face class during the intersession will be 15 hours per week for three weeks.
Spring Intersession: May 18 to June 5, 2020
Registration for spring intersession begins on April 13, 2020, while instruction begins on May 18, 2020 and ends on June 5, 2020.
Summer Semester: June 8 to July 17, 2020
Registration for summer semester begins on April 27, 2020, while instruction begins June 8, 2020 and ends on July 17, 2020. Summer is a six-week program. For a three-credit hour course, class meeting times will be at least seven hours per week for six weeks.
Summer Intersession: July 20 to August 7, 2020
Registration for summer intersession begins on June 8, 2020, while instruction begins on July 20, 2020 and ends on August 7, 2020. Attached are copies of intersession and summer semester academic calendars for 2020-2022. Students who earn an incomplete grade this semester can complete during courses the spring intersession, summer semester, summer intersession of fall 2020. The earlier the students complete the courses the earn an “I”, the better to avoid the “I” from being converted an “F” grade, and it helps the students to have less course load in the subsequent semester.
